Started in 2016, the improved sidewalk along Railway Boulevard is not only a huge safety improvement for the Town of Creston citizens and visitors, it is one of many beautiful new additions/improvements our Town has seen over the last 10 years.
Completed in a very short two months, this new sidewalk was constructed on the West side of Railway Boulevard utilizing municipally owned property versus the CP Rail owned property opposite the boulevard.
The approximately 140 metres of curb, gutter, and sidewalk include an expansive retaining wall, lengthy handrail, and large shade trees which look equally as beautiful at night due to the installation of string lights. Pedestrians can sit and take in the panoramic views of our valley thanks in part to two seating areas.
This is a great compliment to our new intersection on Highway 3 at the junction of Pine Street and Railway Boulevard! I encourage you to take a stroll along this sidewalk and see for yourself just how nice it is. Another great example of the Town of Creston building together to make this a vibrant and wonderful community to work in, live in and visit.
